Position description

The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer position in winter quarter 2024 to teach EDUC 349 Theories and Methods of English Language Development, a course in the Master of Arts with Credential Program. Two 4-unit course sections are available in the single subject pathway:

Course Description:

EDUC 349. Theories and Methods of English Language Development Applied to Secondary Students. 4 Units.
Theories and methods of English language development and instruction of English language learners, with focus on secondary students. Includes language acquisition theory, language and content, assessment strategies, and preparation of curricula and instruction for grades 7–12 English language learners.
Service Period Dates:
Winter Quarter is 1/3/24 – 3/22/24, first day of class will be the week of 1/8/24.

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree, a record of successful teaching experience, a valid credential in English with an English Learner Authorization, experience teaching multilingual students, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in a field related to the course to be taught. Teaching at University level.

Salary:

Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $64,329. The salary range is $64,329-$181,015 annually.
