Position description
The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is anticipating openings for short-term summer part-time or full-time positions and/or one-year appointments in microfluidics for single-cell engineering and analysis. We are seeking candidates with expertise in designing, testing, and fabricating droplet microfluidic devices for single-cell analysis and gene editing applications. Proficiency in CAD software to develop detailed designs for microfluidic devices, specifically for the development of droplet microfluidic platforms for intracellular delivery and on-a-droplet bioassay techniques, is highly desired. Additionally, the candidate should possess a strong expertise in soft-lithography fabrication techniques and experience in digital processing of high-speed video recording. Aptitude in cell culturing with aseptic technique is also a requirement.
Requirements: Applicants must have a B.S. in biomedical engineering, biological sciences or a related field. Good communication and writing skills are required. Experience with cell culturing with aseptic technique.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
Minimum annual salary range - $51,300.00 to $54,600.00
