Position description
Postdoctoral Scholar Opportunities – Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics
The Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University of California, Irvine, is searching for multiple postdoctoral scholars to work on the precision medicine and NIH brain mapping project. This position is funded by grants awarded by NIH and NSF.
Requirements:
Individual(s) who are hired will work jointly with several Principal Investigators from three different departments at UC Irvine. The chosen candidate(s) will work on topics related to data analysis, statistical methods, and computational tools development for precision medicine (integrative analysis of genome-wide sequencing/omics data related to lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other complex diseases, and predictive model building for genetic risk prediction etc.), and an NIH brain mapping project that uses single-cell multi-omics to understand the molecular features and cellular networks of aging, AD and other disorders.
- We seek applicants with PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related discipline.
- Candidates must have solid training and a background in Statistics/Machine Learning.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills.
- Must have demonstrated communication skills and ability to convey information with members of interdisciplinary research team.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Postdoctoral level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and previous work experience. Initial appointments are for a minimum of two years; renewal is dependent on availability of funding and job performance.
