Position description

The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for all ranks in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (Assistant, Associate, and/or Full Professor Levels). Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic medicine career in general or subspecialty physiatry will be given the opportunity to grow in a new and dynamic department that provides care in all UC Irvine clinical locations. This includes the UC Irvine Douglas Hospital, a modern facility opened in 2009 with state-of-the-art patient care rooms and an all new Acute Rehabilitation Unit. Douglas Hospital is the only level I trauma center in Orange County, is an NCI-designated cancer center, stroke center and regional burn center. Our PM&R practice covers all subspecialties and provides consultative, inpatient and outpatient services for the surrounding communities.

UC Irvine Medical Center is 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean with easy access from coastal communities including Newport Beach, Huntington Beach and Laguna Beach. Orange County has an ideal year round climate, averaging 280 sunny days and temperatures of 70-80°.
