Lecturer, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science
Position description
The Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering at UC Irvine has a need for a temporary lecturer to teach the required core laboratory course “Chemical Engineering Laboratory I” (CBEMS 140A) in Fall Quarter. The selected candidate will have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and have demonstrated theoretical and practical knowledge of transport phenomena i.e., fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer, and their applications in processes such as pipe networks, fluidized beds, heat exchangers, mixing, and aeration. Suitable candidates must be able to set up and troubleshoot experiments, create lab instructions, engage students regarding best practices for laboratory safety, data acquisition and data analysis, provide clear guidelines for effective oral and written communications, supervise teaching assistants, and evaluate both oral and written technical reports.

• Fall Quarter begins September 29, 2014 and ends December 19, 2014.
Salary: $6,536 per course per quarter
