Position description

The Center for Evidence-Based Corrections in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at the University of California, Irvine seeks to hire a part-time (50%) Researcher. This position is in the Specialist series category; rank and step will be based upon qualifications and level of experience. The position will independently develop research, lead specific projects, complete research-related tasks including library research, development of data collection instruments, data coding and/or collection, statistical analysis, Human Subject Protocol Development, field work in California requiring travel, draft interim and final reports, and summarize/present findings to state and local audiences. Other tasks include assembling and analyzing evidence-based research in the area of juvenile and adult corrections, including parole and prisons. A Ph.D. or Masters in a relevant field and evidence of applied research experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Statistical package knowledge required (SAS preferred), as well as strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
