Position description

The Department of English invites applications for the position of Academic Coordinator in the Composition Program. This position is full-time and split between administration and teaching in the roles of Academic Coordinator and Lecturer respectively. The Academic Coordinator reports to the Director of Composition, and the administrative duties of the position include but are not limited to working collaboratively with the Director and two other Academic Coordinators to manage the operational and communicative functions of the Program; to develop, implement, and assess curricula; and to train, supervise, and evaluate the Program’s Lecturers and its graduate student teachers. This position attends to the first of the Program’s two required courses, WR 39B Critical Reading & Rhetoric. The Academic Coordinator is also expected to engage in professional development and programmatic activities that pertain to the administration and teaching of first-year composition and rhetoric. Initial two-year appointment begins in the 2015-2016 academic year on July 01, 2015 and ending on June 30, 2017. The position is renewable. Annual salary as Lecturer will be commensurate with experience within the range $49,012-$61,210 and annual salary as Academic Coordinator will be commensurate with experience within the range $49,908-$60,024.
