Position description

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) is pleased to welcome applicants for the position of HS Clinical Instructor-Clinical Informatics Fellow for July 2015. The mission of the 2-year Clinical Informatics Fellowship is to train board-certified/board-eligible emergency medicine physicians in the principles clinical informatics and how to practically implement these practices in an integrated healthcare system. Fellowship goals include: expertise in procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation and continuous improvement of clinical information systems. The fellowship focuses on the practical application of clinical informatics and specific training will be devoted to leadership development and belt-attainment in Lean-Six-Sigma methodology.

Fellows will practice at UC Irvine Medical Center, a Level I Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac and Burn receiving center with an annual census of more than 2500 trauma activations, 48,000 emergency department visits, and a three-year residency program that has been in place since 1989.
