Position description

The University of California Irvine, Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders(UCI MIND) has an opportunity for postdoctoral scholar position to work on project involves analysis of the regulation of the immune system by exercise and how this can affect neurodegeneration, brain function and cognition performance. the project focuses on understanding the vulnerability in peripheral and central immune system and how exercise can counteract loss of gene expression in peripheral cells and impact brain function. In particular, studies will evaluate the regulation of gene expression and protein profiles in response to acute and chronic exercise in the presence and absence of endotoxin induced inflammation.

The successful candidate will be immediately responsible for designing and writing experimental protocols, conducting statistical analyses and preparing manuscripts.

The individual should be experienced in the role of exercise-induced negative regulators of TLR/NF-KB pathways in the control of neurodegenerative diseases.
