Position description

Dr. Brian Wong at the University of California Irvine-Beckman Laser Institute and Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking a postdoctoral fellow. The research focus will be on the human upper airway to encompass computational modeling, cartilage mechanics, and optical imaging. Technical skills should be broad based and include expertise in modeling and experimental methods in particular with biological tissues. Dr Wong’s lab focuses on a number of translational biomedical problems including functional airway imaging with optical coherence tomography, computational modeling, 3D optical imaging, and cartilage mechanics. Hence, a broad background in biomedical engineering is preferred, in particular with expertise in mechanical engineering as applied to tissues. Electrical engineering, applied physics, and optics backgrounds are also very desirable. The fellowship provides three full years of salary support, starting at $48k/year, and includes benefits.
