Position description

The Beckman Laser Institute and Medical Clinic (BLI) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at the University of California, Irvine are seeking to fill a new, tenured position in Biophotonics with specialized expertise in spectroscopy and imaging of skin. Primary responsibilities will include serving as Associate Director of the Beckman Laser Institute while contributing to the teaching and advising of postdoctoral, graduate, and undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and a demonstrated track record for developing and maintaining an externally-funded research program, technology commercialization, translational research, regulatory affairs, and organizational management. Qualified candidates should also have relevant expertise for a joint (courtesy) appointment in the Department of Dermatology in the School of Medicine in order to further develop BLI-Dermatology programs and collaborations.
