Assistant Project Scientist
Position description
The laboratory of Prof. C. Lopes in the Institute for Software Research anticipates two to three assistant project scientist research positions available in the areas of software engineering, specifically two specializations: code mining and large scale multi user real time simulations. The candidate will participate in several research projects in collaboration with graduate students. The candidate must have experience with handling large amounts of software-related data and large databases, and must have knowledge of basic techniques for program analysis, data mining and statistics. Knowledge of machine-learning is a plus. The position requires excellent programming and software engineering skills as well as excellent writing skills.
Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Salary is commensurate with training and experience. The initial appointment will be for a year, with extension to further years dependent in part on the availability of extra-mural funding.
