CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR TEMPORARY TEACHING POSITION

Description:
Seeking an instructor for Introduction to Music (MUS 3), a 4-unit course offered in spring quarter 2016. This course is a lower division lecture course for 200-400 students. Duties include but are not limited to:

1) Lecture in class meetings twice per week for 80 minutes (days/times TBD)
2) Design custom course structure and materials and/or select textbook system to use
3) Introduce a broad range of music-related topics that satisfy the expectations of campus-wide Arts/Humanities General Education requirement, as described here:

4) Supervise several graduate student Teaching Assistants

Qualifications include PhD level studies in music, preferably with a PhD degree completed by the time of the appointment; and experience teaching large-enrollment lecture classes. In addition, experience supervising graduate Teaching Assistants is preferred.

Applicants should hold an appropriate educational degree and professional experience. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and any appropriate collective bargaining agreements.
