The Program in Nursing Science at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) seeks applicants for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions. All applicants must have a research-focused doctorate (e.g., PhD, DNSc) and an active program of research. Applicants for the tenured positions must have a strong record of extramural research funding and a distinguished publication record. Applicants for the tenure-track position must show strong potential for extramural funding with a nascent record of publication in peer-reviewed journals. We are particularly interested in individuals with community-based programs of research addressing health disparities (e.g., ethnic minorities/underserved populations, women’s health, elder care) or innovative healthcare delivery, although all interested individuals are encouraged to apply.

Candidates must be able to mentor students at all levels (BS, MS, PhD) in conducting excellent research and developing an evidence-based practice. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels and will help prepare graduates for (a) research positions across the healthcare delivery system, (b) faculty positions in academic institutions, and (c) educational, administrative, clinical and advanced practice roles. Underrepresented minority and male scholars are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and must hold a current license or be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in the State of California.

The dynamic Program in Nursing Science is a recent addition to the campus at the University of California, Irvine. Faculty members have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of UC Irvine’s Nursing Science Program. There are many opportunities for collaboration on both the campus community and the diverse Orange County community. UCI has a renowned Medical Center with a School of Medicine, and programs in public health and pharmaceutical sciences, with many opportunities for interdisciplinary research.

The Program in Nursing Science at UC Irvine is the newest nursing program in the prestigious University of California system.
