Associate Professor In Residence and Director of Metabolomics Core

The UCI Department of Biological Chemistry invites applicants for the position of Director of the Metabolomic Core. The position will be a non-tenured, academic term appointment in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the Associate Professor In Residence series. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and direct the operations of the Metabolomics Core in the School of Medicine, to conduct original research in the fields of Metabolomics related to human disease with emphasis on cancer and neurological disorders, and to develop teaching material in the related areas.
Academic appointments in the UCI Department of Biological Chemistry provides a supportive academic environment for original methodological research, including opportunities for collaboration with other Department researchers, as well as teaching and mentoring as part of the School of Medicine medical students program and various Ph.D. programs at UC Irvine.
Requirements: We invite applicants who currently hold the position of Associate Professor with experience in directing a Metabolomics core as director or co-director. Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and a record of high-quality research documented by publications in fields related to metabolomics, such as cancer metabolism and biomarker development. Successful candidates should have a record of extramural funding and a record of excellent teaching.
