Position description

The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of California Irvine is accepting applications for an Assistant Specialist to join the laboratory of Professor Anandkumar. The successful candidate will part of an interdisciplinary team that designs new machine learning methods and deploys them in a number of applications.

Requirements – Applicant will be expected to carry out his/her own defined research project under the guidance of the lab’s principle investigator. This is an exciting opportunity to participate in research at the cutting edge of machine learning.
The successful candidate will be appointed beginning October 23, 2015 through May 31, 2016. The appointment will be at a salary based on an annual rate of 100% of $42,144, with eligibility for partial benefits. Renewal can be offered contingent upon the availability of adequate funding.
The position requires a PhD degree. Should have good communication and writing skills and broad knowledge of machine learning and math.
