Position description

CALIT2 promotes research and develops technology for areas such as biomedical, communication and networking technologies.

Candidate will work as part of a team of researchers to perform scientific research and development activity in circuits and embedded systems for advanced products that enable large scale connectivity known as the Internet of Things. Projects include systems for digital health, infrastructure monitoring, industrial automation, energy management, and environmental sensing. Candidate will develop electronic devices for sensing, actuation, control, filtering, amplification, digitization, and wireless communication.

In addition, the candidate will be expected to make substantive scientific, scholarly, and intellectual contributions to the research enterprise, including the preparation of technical reports, drawings, schematics, presentations, publications, proposals, and invention disclosures. Candidate will also be expected to participate in service activities including assisting in maintaining a laboratory infrastructure, training students, hosting visitors, and working with the community.

Candidate must have M.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with relevant experience in developing devices and systems for connectivity and the Internet of Things. Must have experience developing advanced sensor devices, controller modules, embedded systems, wireless devices. Must have excellent electronics design skills, troubleshooting skills, device characterization experience, embedded programming skills, and software skills. In addition, the candidate must have an outstanding work ethic, strong sense of responsibility, good communication skills, and the ability to work well on a team.

Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on performance and availability of support. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
