Position description

We are seeking a Genetic Counselor at the rank of Health Sciences Assistant or Associate Clinical Professor, to join our large and diverse Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine. The Division provides outpatient care and inpatient consultation services in the pediatric, cancer, metabolic, prenatal and adult genetics clinics at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, Long Beach Memorial Miller Children’s Hospital and our affiliated hospitals. The Genetic Counselor will also participate in didactic and clinical training of genetics residents, genetic counseling and medical students, and other trainees. Division faculty members are actively involved in both clinical and basic science research. Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Requirements: Applicants must have ABGC active candidate status or certification as a Genetic Counselor. Applicants must be qualified for a genetic counselor license in the State of California. Spanish language competency is preferred but not required. Experience in providing genetic counseling in the pediatric setting is preferred.
