Position description

The University of California, Irvine, Department of Neurology is recruiting a Clinical Research Scholar for its growing Department of Neurology. The successful candidate will be an outstanding researcher in aging and dementia epidemiology, with training and experience in risk and protective factors, clinical-pathological correlations, and statistical methodology. This is an In-Residence (academic senate) appointment expected to be at the Full Professor level. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience. UC Irvine, located in Orange County, with a population of more than three million, has a long and distinguished tradition of excellence in neuroscience.

Requirements - We invite applicants who currently hold the position of Associate or Full Professor with training in epidemiology and statistics. Successful candidates must have a doctoral degree. The candidate should have a record of high-quality independent research, with scholarly activity and publications commensurate with experience, as well as an excellent record of teaching. Candidates with extramural funding or submitted applications for independent awards, particularly from the federal government, are especially sought. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an extramurally-funded research program at a high level of accomplishment, teach medical students, graduate students, and residents, demonstrate professional competency and activity, and perform university and public service.
