Position description

A Postdoctoral Scholar position is available in synthesis and microstructural/mechanical characterization of advanced structural materials in Professor Enrique Lavernia’s laboratory in the University of California, Irvine, Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science. The postdoctoral scholar will be focused on the synthesis and characterization of a number of novel materials, including but not limited to nanostructured high entropy alloys. Applicants should be recent Ph.D. graduates with backgrounds in materials science and engineering, or related fields (degree date of 2015 or later). The candidates must be self-motivated, and have extensive hands-on experience in materials synthesis/processing and characterization techniques including severe plastic deformation, spark plasma sintering, XRD, SEM, TEM, mechanical testing and related data analysis.
