Description:

Seeking a cellist performer/teacher for a part-time position to teach undergraduate and graduate cello students, and teach a large chamber music course for instrumental performance majors.

Duties:

1) Teach and mentor cello majors, and supervise recitals by upper division students.

2) Serve as primary instructor, coordinator, and coach for an instrumental chamber music course for up to 60 students, with assistance from other department faculty serving as additional coaches; tasks include placing students into ensembles that change every quarter, assigning repertoire; coordinating coaches; and supervising final concert.

3) Participate in auditions, recruiting, and juries.

Required qualifications:

1) Master's degree in Music.

Additional qualifications:

1) Strong performance background and university-level teaching experience.

2) Knowledge of instrumental chamber music repertoire and ability to select appropriate chamber works for student instrumental groups that may include strings, piano, winds, brass, percussion and guitar.

Preferred qualifications:

1) DMA degree in cello performance.
