HS Clinical Instructor Series/ Quality and Patient Safety Fellowship
Position description
The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is offering a one year fellowship program in Quality and Patient Safety. The Fellowship program is designed to provide extensive training in patient safety, quality improvement, quality monitoring, and quality reporting and metrics through rotations in the department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care as well as with UC Irvine Health’s Quality Department, Risk Management, Compliance, and the office of the Chief Medical Officer.
UC Irvine Health Medical Center is Orange County’s only Level I Trauma Center and provides a dynamic environment for training future leaders in the field of quality and patient safety. The fellowship provides developing leaders with unique opportunities such as Lean Sigma training and certification, serving on the department and institution quality committees and leading, developing, and implementing quality and patient safety projects. Fellows accepted into this program are trained to design and implement effective change in the context of health care systems.
Minimum Requirements:
California medical license is required prior to appointment. Candidates must be board-certified or eligible for certification in Anesthesiology.
