The Political Science Department at the University of California, Irvine seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor in the International Political Economy subfield of International Relations beginning July 1, 2017. Salary is commensurate with academic qualifications and experience. Applicants are required to focus centrally on IPE (rather than Comparative Political Economy) in their research record, publications, teaching, and scholarly training. IPE themes include the role of international economic institutions, international implications of trans-border movements, global impact of economic inequality, transnational dimensions of global food production, international effects of sanctions, and other topics that transcend the internal politics of states to explain international outcomes. Applicants with a variety of methodological approaches will be considered.
Candidates should apply online at: https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/apply/JPF03410. The online application should include: a letter of application, curriculum vitae, at least three letters of recommendation, one writing sample focusing centrally on IPE, and evidence of teaching excellence in IPE-related courses.
Given its commitment to encouraging diversity, UC Irvine asks that a separate statement that addresses past and/or potential contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion be included with the application. The letters of recommendation should be uploaded directly by the referees. To ensure full consideration, the online application should be completed by October 15, 2016. Applications will be accepted, however, until the position is filled.
