Position description

Due to departmental and sectional growth, the Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is seeking a qualified candidate in the Clinician Researcher (Clinical X) academic series (Associate or Full Professor Level). Expertise in all aspects of abdominal imaging including multi-parametric prostate MRI and image-guided biopsy is desired.

Requirements - The applicant must be fellowship trained in Abdominal Imaging and have a documented interest in clinical and or basic sciences research as well as an interest in teaching. Since this is a research oriented position, candidates with documented publications and grants are preferred. The hospital is an NCI designated cancer center with large number of multidisciplinary research opportunities available. Candidates must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and be licensed or be eligible for licensure in the State of California.

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is located in Orange, California and is the only level I trauma center in the region. The department performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 40 full-time and part time faculty. All imaging equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments. The UC Irvine Medical Center is a 450-bed acute care and tertiary referral facility. Protected research time and research support is available.

Orange County is world renowned for its natural beauty, perfect year round climate, gorgeous locales on the Pacific Ocean and incomparable recreational opportunities. Great cultural opportunities abound in Orange County as well as in nearby Los Angeles, 40 minutes away and San Diego, 60 minutes away.
