Position description

The Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, UCI School of Medicine seeks a Clinical Geneticist with interests in general and metabolic genetics. Clinical activities will be based primarily at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital (MCH), Long Beach, CA, where you will join our thriving and expanding Genetics and Metabolic programs, consisting of three clinical geneticists (including one medical biochemical geneticist), two genetic counselors, two metabolic dietitians, a genetics nurse, a metabolic nurse, a social worker, and ample administrative support. Additional clinical activities will take place at the UCI Medical Campus in Orange, CA. You will also participate in didactic and clinical training of genetics residents, genetic counseling graduate students, medical students, and other trainees. Clinical or translational research participation is possible and encouraged. Rank and salary depend on qualifications and experience.

Requirements: ABMGG board-certification or active candidacy in Clinical Genetics and Genomics. Interest and experience in diagnosis and management of individuals with general genetic disorders and inherited metabolic disorders are strongly preferred. Board-certification in Medical Biochemical Genetics or Clinical Biochemical Genetics is beneficial but not required. Spanish language competency is helpful but not required. Applicants must be qualified for a medical license (MD or MD/PhD) in the State of California.
