Position description

The UC Irvine Teaching and Learning Research Center supports research investigating teaching and learning processes and outcomes on the UCI campus. We seek a Distinguished Postdoctoral Scholar for Teaching and Learning Research to help fulfill the center’s research mission. This is a two-year position with a proposed start date of July 1, 2017 (negotiable).

The postdoctoral scholar will work with faculty on campus to design and implement research projects, develop funding proposal, analyze data, write up results for publications and presentations, and organize outreach activities to campus faculty about conducting teaching and learning research.

In addition to the position salary, the scholar will receive a research stipend of $10,000 to be used over the two years for computer hardware or software, conference travel, and any other research materials and expenses.

Candidates must have a Ph.D or equivalent; experience in conducting research on teaching and learning; expertise in research design, methodology, and educational statistics; outstanding verbal and written communication skills; a successful record of publication and presentations; and the ability to work well with university faculty. Desirable qualifications include prior experience in grant writing, experience in program evaluation and grant reporting, and prior research in higher education settings.
