The Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for Assistant/ Associate/ Full Professor in Residence in its various divisions. Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic medicine career in general or subspecialty medicine will be given the opportunity to grow in a dynamic department.
The divisions/subspecialties include:
Nephrology and Hypertension
Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
Occupational and Environmental Medicine
Critical Care Medicine
General Internal Medicine
Requirements Applicants for this position must have an M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. degrees, with Master’s degree and/or subspecialty fellowship training desirable. Board certification in Medicine is required, as is an academic record sufficient for appointment in the In-Residence series at the assistant professor level. Candidates must have a strong record of scholarly activity and peer reviewed publications. The candidates should also hold, or be eligible for, a medical license in the State of California. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of all administrative and operational processes of the department, providing not only comprehensive, interactive clinical services, but also supporting the teaching, educational and research missions of the department, school and university. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work cooperatively and congenially within a diverse academic and clinical environment. Candidates with leadership skills and vision for enhancing the clinical and academic components of a multi-disciplinary department are especially encouraged to submit applications.
