The Department of Statistics (www.stat.uci.edu) at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or tenured associate/full professor position beginning July 1, 2018. This position is part of a collaborative hiring effort across the Departments of Statistics and Computer Science at the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences at UCI.
The Department of Statistics has an interdisciplinary focus, with an emphasis on developing methods to solve applied problems and advancing the statistical theory that underlies those methods. We are searching for faculty with strong research potential, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and enthusiasm for helping our department continue to grow. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree (or expected by Fall 2018) in statistics, biostatistics or a related field. Candidates with research interests in all areas of statistics will be considered; the department has particular interest in individuals with research areas relevant to temporal and/or spatial data.
