The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) seeks stellar applicants for the position of Health Sciences Clinical Professor at the Assistant/Associate rank. Successful candidates will be responsible for teaching in the undergraduate and graduate level pre-licensure programs as well as the upcoming DNP program. Faculty will also have the opportunity to practice in one of the UC Irvine Health ambulatory centers. Applicants should possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates must show evidence of collaborative interdisciplinary partnerships that advance the science of improving health outcomes for individuals, families and communities, and of teaching the next generation of nursing professionals. Qualified applicants must have the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach and mentor a diverse student body.

UC Irvine Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is distinguished by its community-based approach to promoting, improving, and sustaining health and wellness throughout the community. In January 2017, the University of California’s Board of Regents approved the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing as the fourth nursing school in the University of California system. Ranked as one of the top 50 in research funding, the School of Nursing is dedicated to advancing evidence-based clinical practice and the discipline of Nursing through scholarly research, education, and practice. Today, the school is home to more than 200 highly qualified students in its baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degree programs in Nursing Science. Many opportunities exist for collaboration with the campus community and the diverse Orange County community. The school is one of four academic units in the College of Health Sciences which also includes a School of Medicine, and Programs in Public Health and Pharmaceutical Science, with many opportunities for interdisciplinary teaching and research.

DUTIES: Teaching BS/MS/DNP coursework; option to participate in the School of Nursing faculty practice.

REQUIREMENTS: PhD or DNP nationally-certified in Adult, Gerontology, Adult/Gerontology Primary Care, or Family/Individual across the lifespan, excellent clinical skills, excellent communication skills, experience with clinical and didactic teaching, desire to work in an interdisciplinary team. California RN license required.

DESIRED SKILLS: Leadership experience, interest in scholarly activities.
