Position description

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a faculty position in experimental neutrino physics. The appointment level, from Assistant to Full Professor, will be commensurate with experience.

The experimental particle physics faculty have broad interests in experiments and the energy, intensity, and cosmic frontiers, including participation in Super-Kamiokande and T2K in Japan and DUNE at Sanford Lab/Fermilab; NOvA at Fermilab; Mu2e at Fermilab and MEG at PSI; IceCube, ANITA and ARIANNA at the South Pole; HAWC in Mexico; ATLAS at CERN; and Fermi-LAT in space, EPP faculty are also involved in the BOSS and LSST programs at the interface of particle physics and cosmology and have close and productive ties with the Irvine faculty in theoretical particle physics and cosmology.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent and is expected to participate effectively in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. In the case of a senior appointment, demonstrated accomplishments in securing research funding and leading a research group are advantages. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
