The University of California, Irvine, Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology is recruiting an Ecologist in the Center for Environmental Biology to facilitate ecological research associated with natural resource conservation and restoration, along with contributing to its Professional Masters Program. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of contributions to the ecological sciences with desirable strengths in plant community ecology, evolutionary ecology, invasive species biology, functional trait ecology, restoration ecology, and global change ecology. The successful candidate will carry out research in a community-engaged setting, leveraging an existing knowledge-action network within the broader Orange County region to bring science to decision-, and policy-making. This appointment will contribute to the education mission of the Department and Center, offering courses in their area of expertise, coordinating research experience for early career scholars engaged with community partners and stakeholders, and providing mentoring to students in their research programs. The successful candidate will assist in the development of the research agenda of the Center for Environmental Biology and translation strategies associated with the scholarly program. This is an appointment in the Adjunct Series to be at the Assistant Professor level, UC Irvine, located in Orange County, with a population of more than three million, has a long and distinguished tradition of excellence.

Requirements – Successful candidates must have a PhD with research experience in Ecology. The candidate should have a record of high-quality mentored or independent research, with scholarly activity and publications commensurate with experience. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop a research program at a high level of accomplishment.
