The University of California, Irvine, Department of Dance seeks a part-time lecturer in western dance history (pool recruitment). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate students.
Basic qualifications: M.A., M.F.A., or Ph.D in Dance, Dance Studies, or Critical Dance Studies and college/university teaching experience in western dance history.

Applicants may be hired for full or partial quarters based on the needs of the department.

Compensation will be at a quarterly rate of $5,874 per lecture course for one or more quarters, contingent upon available funding and instructional need.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Department of Dance at the University of California, Irvine enrolls 150 undergraduate dance majors and 20 graduate students in B.A., B.F.A., and M.F.A. degrees in Dance. The department, with 15 full-time and several part-time faculty, has been recognized as one of the nation’s outstanding dance programs. UCI alumni have danced with professional dance companies, in film and television, on Broadway, in national tours, and are employed as university dance faculty nationwide and internationally. The department’s facilities include six dance studios, a motion capture studio, and a Dancer Wellness/ Pilates Suite. Students perform in three theatres (including an Experimental Media Performance Lab) and participate in collaborative telematic projects.
