FAMILY MEDICINE. The University of California, Irvine (UCI), Department of Family Medicine has openings for board-certified/eligible family physicians to join the UCI faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. This recruitment is for a Sports Medicine / Family Physician in an ambulatory practice. We are seeking qualified individuals who are excellent clinicians with a strong commitment to medical education, which will include teaching in the UCI School of Medicine education courses and precepting medical students in clinic, as well as participating in the Department of Family Medicine residency program education.
Direct patient care, possible inpatient service coverage, residency teaching, medical student teaching, possible team physician coverage.
Leadership experience. Proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Korean. Interest in scholarly activities. Interest in event coverage for team and mass participation sporting events.
Sports medicine fellowship. American Board of Family Medicine certification or eligibility, Sports Medicine Board Certification or eligibility, excellent clinical skills, familiarity with sports ultrasound, interest in clinical teaching, eligibility for UCI Medical Center medical staff privileges, and proven leadership skills. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience. Applications will be considered until the positions are filled.
