One full-time postdoctoral scholar is needed at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) to support the Florida Learning Disabilities Research Center (FLDRC).
Main duties will include overseeing the day to day operations of the UCI-FLRDC, working closely with the project researchers. Main duties include running statistical analyses including meta-analyses, analyzing and coding classroom video observations, collecting and managing student-level data, assessment development, and recruitment of schools. Other responsibilities include disseminating research findings– writing peer reviewed journal articles, and presenting at conferences. Experience in research projects, data management, learning disabilities, and statistical methods is strongly preferred.
Candidates must possess a Ph.D in education, psychology, or quantitative methods, with a focus on learning disabilities, learning, language, and literacy. It is highly preferred that applicants have an emerging record of research in the areas of learning disabilities, literacy, intervention research, advanced statistical methods (e.g., meta-analyses, hierarchical linear modeling, longitudinal analysis), family and school influences, special education, and technology. Also preferred is evidence of participation at all levels on externally funded research projects, particularly conducting and overseeing research in schools and in the field. Leadership experience is also preferred.
Position will begin February 2018, with the exact start date contingent on funding and the availability of the applicant. Salary is commensurate with experience, plus health benefits.
