The Division of Genetic and Genomic Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, UCI School of Medicine seeks a full-time Board Certified Genetic Counselor to join our clinical and academic faculty of ten clinical geneticists and six genetic counselors. The position will involve providing genetic counseling in the pediatric and adult genetics clinics, as well as teaching and supervising genetic counseling graduate students in our Genetic Counseling Graduate program. Clinical activities will be mainly based at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital (MCH), Long Beach, CA, where you will join our thriving and expanding Genetics and Metabolic programs, consisting of three clinical geneticists, one genetic counselor, two metabolic dietitians, a genetics nurse, a metabolic nurse, a social worker, and ample administrative support. Additional clinical activities will take place at the UCI Medical Campus in Orange, CA. You will also participate in didactic and clinical training of genetics residents, medical students, and other trainees. Rank and salary depend on qualifications and experience. Requirements: Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling or its equivalent. ABGC board certified or active candidate status, and eligibility for California genetic counselor license. Spanish language competency is helpful but not required. At least 1 year of employment as a Genetic Counselor preferred; however, new graduates also encouraged to apply.
