Grill-Gillen postdoc
Position description
The University of California Irvine’s Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to engage in statistical methods and applied research to investigate the efficiency of Alzheimer’s disease clincial trial designs. This co-mentored post-doctoral fellow will work with two faculty clinical trialists who are core leaders in the UCI Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Joshua Grill, PhD (http://www.faculty.uci.edu/profile.cfm?faculty_id=6201), and Daniel Gillen, PhD (http://www.ics.uci.edu/~dgillen).
The position will be responsible for conducting secondary data analyses of existing clinical trials data and using the empirical results from those analyses to inform the development of novel and efficient sequential trial designs in the setting of Alzheimer’s disease treatment and prevention. Expertise in survival and longitudinal analysis methods is necessary. Experience in clinical trials and group sequential methods is desired.
Applicants must possess a PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or Public Health. Candidates should have a strong publication record and also possess good interpersonal and organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to prioritize tasks in order to meet established goals and deadlines. This position is funded by a NIH grants to the co-mentors. As such, eligible candidates must be a U.S. citizen or a non-citizen national of the United States or have been lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time of appointment. Initial appointments are for two years and renewal is based on availability of support.
