Position description

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the UC Irvine School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a Specialist (Open Rank) position in Biostatistics and Epidemiology. This position will be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist rank.

Applications are being sought from candidates with an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Biostatistics or in a related discipline with a strong quantitative background. Candidates must be proficient with at least one statistical analysis language and must possess excellent writing and editing skills. Preference will be given to candidates who are familiar with REDCap.

The Specialist will be expected to contribute to the Emergency Medicine research projects by performing statistical data analysis and engaging in the creation of research designs, which includes research-statistical methods, sample size and data collection. The incumbent will also be expected to manage multiple research projects in parallel; participate in the department’s weekly research meeting; write and edit research reports in collaboration with Principal Investigators; and interact closely with students, resident physicians, fellows, and faculty members within the department.

Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and competitive market conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess an M.S. or Ph.D. degree in the field of Biostatistics or in a related discipline.
