The Department of Informatics at the University of California, Irvine anticipates a full-time Assistant Project Scientist position available on August 15, 2018. The selected candidate will be expected to assist in the conduct of active research.
The position is intended to explore the area of research having to do with assistive technologies and technologies in support of healthy child development. The primary responsibilities including helping to supervise PhD and MS students as well as mentoring undergraduate students while conducting original research in the area of technologies for autism and related disabilities. Other related duties include designing software, assisting in behavioral studies, including doing data analysis and writing up for publication. Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Computer Science, Informatics, or a related field. Applicant must be bi-lingual in English and Spanish, able to conduct research studies and write academic papers in both languages. Applicants should have extensive experience working with children with autism and related disabilities as well as in designing, developing, and evaluating research software for this population.
The salary for this position is $73,800. The initial appointment will be for a one year period, with extensions for further years dependent in part on the availability of funding. Anticipated date of appointment is August 15, 2018
