The Department of Drama is establishing a search of qualified applicants for a position as part-time lecturer for Fall Quarter 2018 & Winter Quarter 2019 in the area of Music Theatre History.
The department seeks applicants who can teach the History of Musical Theatre from 1943 – 1970 and 1970 to present day. This course is an upper division lecture course and has an enrollment of 50-80 Graduate and Undergraduate students per quarter. It is a required course of all music theatre students. The curriculum uses multi-media. A BA in Music or Theatre is required. An MFA in Drama, English, History, Music or a related area is preferred. Previous experience teaching this music history curriculum is a plus.
Base salary commensurate with training and professional experience.
Candidates for this position must have outstanding professional credits in theatre and/or film as well as a strong commitment to teaching, training, and working within the university.
Candidates must demonstrate a pedagogical and professional profile that is compatible with a distinguished graduate professional musical theatre degree program at a major research university. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability and commitment to work effectively with a diverse student population.
