The Department of Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a faculty position in social/personality psychology at the rank of assistant to early associate professor. The area of specialization within social/personality psychology is open but, ideally, the candidate's substantive interests would complement other areas of strength within the department, including affective science, developmental psychology, health psychology, and psychology and the law. We especially welcome applicants whose research has the potential to inform understanding of important social problems, including but not limited to, prejudice, discrimination, and broader in-group/out-group biases. Successful candidates for this position will have an outstanding record of research, as well as evidence of excellent teaching and mentoring, the ability to attract extramural funding, and a commitment to inclusive excellence and diversity. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field. ABOUT OUR DEPARTMENT: The Department of Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine offers a Ph.D. in Psychology and Social Behavior with a primary specialization in one of four core areas: developmental psychology, health psychology, social/personality psychology, and affective science. Development of a concentration in clinical psychology is in progress. We also offer a graduate emphasis in psychology and law.
