These research positions are under the sponsorship of the following faculty members:
•Olivier Civelli - Discovery of novel neurotransmitters and search for their functions: from the molecular biology of orphan receptors to their use in behavioral assays; search in traditional medicines for new compounds active in brain responses
•Frederick J. Ehlert – Analysis of drug-receptor interactions, muscarinic receptors, receptor function and signaling
•Kelvin W. Gee – Discovery and preclinical development of novel allosteric modulators of ligand-gated ion channels
•Naoto Hoshi – Physiological role and regulation of the M-channel, molecular biology, electrophysiology and live cell FRET imaging
•Frances M. Leslie – Effects of drugs of abuse on developing brain
•Qun-Yong Zhou – Novel G-protein coupled receptors, physiology and pharmacology of prokineticins and prokineticin receptors; circadian rhythms, angiogenesis, energy metabolism and ischemia.
Requirements include: MD, PhD, or MD/PhD and training in one or more of the areas above. Laboratory experience is a must and a publication history is desirable. Salaries are competitive and commensurate with experience; the annual salary range for Project Scientist is $57,400 - $74,200 (Assistant); $71,000 - $89,500 (Associate) and $83,500 - $158,400 (Full Scientist).
