Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is seeking applicants for a Non-Senate Health Sciences (HS) Clinical Faculty member at the Associate or Full Professor level. This position will hold the administrative title of Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director, where the Director is responsible for managing the DNP Program, including all associated DNP tracks. The DNP Director will serve as a critical member in the School’s Executive Committee Leadership Team. Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership experience in an academic setting, including serving on committees, the ability to provide innovative approaches to academic development, and exhibit commitment to teaching and mentorship. The School is also looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader who has shown an established track record for developing high quality university-level curriculum designed for the classroom, online, or hybrid.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: Candidates are required to have a terminal doctoral degree in nursing such as a DNP, PhD or DNSc; those with an EdD will be considered. Candidates are also required to have National Board Certification as an APRN (NP, CNM, CNS, CRNA) and hold California state certification in their APRN specialty as well as an active and unrestricted California RN license. Candidates must also have APRN program leadership experience. Candidates must demonstrate experience in clinical practice, clinical and didactic teaching, as well as exhibit a record of scholarship.
