Postdoctoral Scholar in Molecular Population Genetics and Genomics
The Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, Program in Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to study population genetics and genomics of malaria parasites or mosquito vectors. Areas of particular interests include population genetics and genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular epidemiology. The position will involve considerable field work in Kenya and Ethiopia.
The candidates must hold a Ph.D. and possess an outstanding publication record. Candidates should have a strong background in one of the following areas: population genetics, genomics, molecular evolution, and bioinformatics. Prior research experience on mosquitoes or malaria parasites is not required. Must possess strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills and proficient working knowledge of bioinformatics, population genetics and genomics.
