Position overview

Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Surgery, MD ranging from $354,847.33 to $463,672. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Surgery in the School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine, is seeking an individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreas Surgery Division located at the UCI main campus. This individual will expand and supplement the existing program existing at the Medical Center Orange. The individual will also be expected to provide coverage at the affiliated Long Beach Memorial Hospital program and the UCI facility located in Orange.

Requirements – An M.D. or equivalent or M.D./Ph.D., board certification or board eligibility in specialty, and a California Medical License are required. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience.
Strong interest and demonstrated abilities in delivering patient care in an academic clinical setting, teaching residents and medical students, and providing service to the university are required.
