Position: Specialist Series Pool Ad
The Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for Junior, Assistant, Associate, and full Specialists.

Applications are sought from candidates with a strong laboratory research background. The incumbent will be expected to perform research in a specialized area, provide university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity. This is an ongoing recruitment. Positions are dependent on extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal will be dependent on availability of support. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requirements:

Junior Specialist: Must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience. demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.

Assistant Specialist: Must possess expertise consistent with four to six years of training and/or experience in the relevant specialization. Appropriate qualifications for appointees at this rank would include possession of a Master's degree in a relevant discipline, or possession of a relevant baccalaureate degree plus three or more years of research experience.

Associate Specialist: Must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.

Specialist: Must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience demonstrating expertise in the relevant specialization.

Qualifications
