Position overview

Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Hematology Oncology for PhD’s range from $100,855.33 to $141,676.00 and for Hematology Oncology, MD’s the range is from $329,783 - $452,098. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for an In Residence faculty position in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants for this position must have a Ph.D. degree in epidemiology, with an academic record sufficient for appointment in the In-Residence series at the assistant professor level. A postdoctoral fellowship is preferred. Candidates must be able to perform independent research and teach in graduate-level courses.
This position will not require any clinical effort. The initial start-up package and salary will be negotiated by the candidate and Department of Medicine. Candidates will be expected to seek and obtain extramural funding in the first three to five years of appointment.

Academic salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, independent research, and original work. The successful candidate will support the needs and objectives of UCI’s Department of Medicine and Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center Cancer Control Program. Responsibilities will include research, teaching, mentoring students, and service on administrative committees.
