The Department of Surgery is seeking a full-time surgeon to join the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery as Clinical-X Series or the Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor Level.

We expect the successful candidate to have excellence in clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity with a high likelihood of obtaining extramural funding, and strong commitment to mentorship, and diversity, inclusion, and equity. Faculty rank and series will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Candidates should have an MD or equivalent and/or MD/ PhD with board certification/ eligibility in General Surgery and fellowship trained in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery.

The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Clinical-X Series or the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.

Faculty rank and series will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Candidates should have an MD or MD/ PhD with board certification/ eligibility in General Surgery.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
M.D. or equivalent and/or M.D./Ph.D.
Board Certified (eligible) General Surgery
Fellowship trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery
Significant demonstrated interest in teaching and future research collaboration
