Salary range: Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation includes AAMC salary benchmarks for Plastic Surgery ranging from $340,000 - $589,286. The posted UC salary scales set the base pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment.
This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan , which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine, Department of Plastic Surgery is now accepting applications from skilled physician educators who are passionate about advancing clinical care, education and research within a clinical/academic setting. Positions are anticipated in the Professor of Clinical X series and the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D., board certification or board eligibility in Plastic Surgery, and a California Medical License/ California Medical License eligibility. The ability to obtain UCIMC staff credentials is also required.

The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, medical students and other academic learners, provide quality patient care, collaborate on research and/or creative works and perform university and public service. Demonstrated evidence of capabilities for excellent teaching and creative works suitable for the series is expected for appointment to this series.

Criteria for appointment in the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criterion for appointment in this series.

Criteria for appointment in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.

Positions are dependent upon funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience, postgraduate clinical training, and eligibility to sit for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. CA Medical license required.
