Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking stellar applicants for the position of Health Sciences Clinical Instructor.
Registered Nurses (RNs) interested in pursuing an academic career in nursing education in a dynamic and growing School of Nursing should apply. We are seeking RNs who have experience in teaching prelicensure nursing across a variety of nursing specialties.

REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a doctorate or an MSN with a doctorate in progress and must hold an active and unencumbered California RN license. Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills as well as didactic teaching, clinical teaching and/or simulation experience. Experience with clinical and didactic teaching in nursing higher education, and a willingness to engage in scholarly activities preferred. Qualified applicants must have demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach and mentor a diverse student body.

DUTIES: Primarily teaching, mentoring, and supervising prelicensure BS and MEPN students in our prelicensure nursing programs.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must hold a minimum of MSN with a terminal doctorate degree in progress (DNP, PhD or EdD), or terminal doctoral degree, as well as an active, unencumbered California RN License. Evidence of teaching evaluations in the last 5 years.
