Position description
The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) is seeking stellar applicants for the position of Health Sciences Clinical Instructor. Successful candidates will be primarily responsible for teaching in the DNP program; undergraduate and graduate level pre-licensure courses may apply.
Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic career in a dynamic and diverse growing School of Nursing should apply. We are seeking clinicians who have experience in underserved settings or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). New graduates may be considered with appropriate experience and interest.
REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, as well as an active and unencumbered California RN license, California NP Certificate, NP Furnishing Number, and DEA Registration, in addition to national board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with expertise in Family/Individual across the Lifespan. Candidates must demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills. Candidates may have experience with clinical teaching and possess a desire to work in an interdisciplinary team. Bilingual Spanish-speaking preferred. Experience with clinical and didactic teaching in community health/public health nursing, and evidence of scholarly activities preferred.
Candidates must show evidence of collaborative interdisciplinary partnerships that advance the science of improving health outcomes for individuals, families, and communities, and of teaching the next generation of nursing professionals. Qualified applicants must have the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of colleagues and to teach and mentor a diverse student body.
DUTIES: Primarily teaching, mentoring, and supervising DNP students in the DNP Program. Clinical practice as an FNP within the UCI Health System, UCI Student Health, or Affiliate Health Centers.
